We're Andrew and Jen, and we've been moving since the day we met in Virginia and where our family began to grow. Military orders took us to Florida where our second kid arrived; then three years in San Diego, two and a half in Honolulu where we had our third; and now we're a family of five based in Naples, Italy. But traveling has always been part of who we are.
Home Is Where We're Together
Military life taught us early that home isn't a place on a map. It's wherever we're together, whether that's an RV spot on a Pacific coast beach, a campground 100 yards from a volcano crater, or an Airbnb 2 blocks from the Duomo in Florence with two excited kids stopping at every gelato shop.
We travel slow because we travel with small humans who need gelato breaks, museums that let them touch things, and trains with enough room to spread out. We've learned that the best memories happen in the in-between moments - the train rides, the wrong turns, the unexpected playgrounds, the local bakery that becomes our daily ritual.
Why This Blog
This blog is our way of documenting these adventures before they blur together, sharing what we've learned about traveling Europe with kids, and hopefully inspiring other families to take the leap. Because the truth is, there's never a perfect time to go - you just go.
We're never settled, but we're always home.
